RESTORING LOST CHILDHOOD TO CHILDREN IN INDIA

In rural India, poverty has been affecting families and continues to limit childhood especially to those that have been marginalized. One student, with the hopes and goals of restoring lost childhood to children, provided loving environments to support meaningful development and wholesome opportunities to those in need.

NEW BREAKTHROUGH IN DRINKING WATER TECHNOLOGY FOR KENYAN AND UGANDAN COMMUNITIES

Developing countries often lack appropriate basic needs including access to safe drinking water. One student brought forth new water treatment technology through the use of solar disinfection and provided operational training to numerous Kenyan and Ugandan communities.

PROVIDING CARE FOR CHILDREN IN INDIA WITH CEREBRAL PALSY

In connection with the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, a team of four students from the University of British Columbia traveled to India to support both children and families living with varying levels of the disorder. They provided care through hydrotherapy, assessments, and community outreach programming.

BUILDING A NEW SCHOOL FOR COMMUNITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES

Surrounding areas near the Cebu City centre in the Philippines live communities struck with severe poverty and deprivation.  A team of committed students were dedicated in changing this reality by constructing the foundations of a basic trades school to support women in the Philippines developing alternative, legitimate livelihoods.

TWO NURSES PROVIDE PRIMARY HEALTHCARE TO RURAL AFRICA

Sharing the desire and commitment to establish long-term sustainable community transformation solutions, two nurse practitioners embarked on a journey to rural communities in Africa to provide primary healthcare for communities in need.

EMPOWERING VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING WITH DIGNIFIED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

In conjunction with Destiny Reflection and Simon Fraser University, four students travelled to Kolkata, India to support women that have been victim to human trafficking. The emphasis of the trip was to economically empower women by providing them with dignified employment opportunities.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE FOR MORE THAN 2500 PEOPLE

Even today, there are countries with very limited access to quality health care and many people requiring medical attention. A committed team of medical professionals traveled to Kenya and provided medical assistance to more than 2500 individuals.

TEACHING ENGLISH TO HELP OPEN MORE OPPORTUNITIES

Education is often a stepping stone to many opportunities in life. An individual traveled to India and Tibet to contribute to teaching English to these impoverished community with the goal of helping others achieve self-sufficiency.

CREATING CHANGE ACROSS DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES IN AFRICA

One dedicated individual spent several months venturing through different communities of Africa and provided an abundance of humanitarian care. This individual changed many lives and gain many new experiences that will hopefully inspire others to make meaningful change around the world.

PROVIDING NEW PROSTHETIC TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE LIVES

Often it is common that different parts of the world process techniques that help individuals with disability.  One volunteer arrived in Karnataka, India both provided insight to the local communities and gain valuable knowledge to bring back to their own studies.
